Ingredients:

  • 3-4 pounds beef chuck roast or brisket, trimmed of excess fat
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Hamburger buns or sandwich rolls, for serving
  • Coleslaw, pickles, or other toppings of your choice (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, beef broth or water, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Place the beef roast in the slow cooker. Pour the barbecue sauce mixture over the beef, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  3. Cover the slow cooker and cook the beef on LOW for 8-10 hours or on HIGH for 4-6 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  4. Once the beef is cooked, use two forks to shred it directly in the slow cooker, mixing it with the sauce.
  5. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if needed, adding more salt, pepper, or barbecue sauce to taste.
  6. Serve the shredded barbecued beef on hamburger buns or sandwich rolls, topped with coleslaw, pickles, or any other toppings of your choice.
  7. Enjoy your delicious slow cooker barbecued beef sandwiches!

This recipe is versatile, so feel free to customize it with your favorite barbecue sauce and spices. You can also add sliced onions or minced garlic for extra flavor.
